Le grignotage et la prise de collations (ou « snacks ») à base de féculents, riches en pommes de terre notamment, est associée à une augmentation drastique de 50 % du risque de décès et jusqu’à 57 % du risque de décès cardiovasculaire. Inversement, consommer des fruits, des légumes ou des produits laitiers au cours des repas est associé à un risque réduit de décès par maladie cardiovasculaire, cancer ou de toute autre cause.
